Yesterday was was 3 anniversary of American Idiot!!! So HAPPY AMERICAN IDIOT! It’s also 50th anniversary of Grammy Award this year and www.mynightatthegrammys.com is allowing people to vote for their favorite Grammy moments. Green Day’s live performance of 'American Idiot' from the 2005 Grammys is included in the list . YOU HAVE TO VOTE!!!!GO AND VOTE!!! Larry Livermore (founder of Lookout Records) was one-third of a recent panel talking about punk's history, present and future. Green Day was mentioned in Q's list of best award ceremony moments. They talk about Billie Joe walking up to a DJ at the end of an after party and asking him to play 'When I Come Around'. Apparently Billie Joe ended up being the only person to go out and dance on the floor, to his own music. They also mention that he was "very, very drunk".
Green Day/U2 lost to Beyonce/Shakira for the "Most Earth-Shattering Collaboration" (nominees) at this years MTV VMA's. Billie Joe and Adrienne attended the MAGIC convention fashion show last weekend to promote Adeline Street. Online merchandise retailer EBTM.com signed a deal

Green Day & U2 have been nominated for "Most Earth-Shattering Collaboration" at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. ''What happens when monsters of rock bridge the mainstream punk generation gap to bring a major issue to light? "The Saints Are Coming" as performed by U2 and Green Day. The pop and punk bands speak to everyone's grief and the Animals lend a hand with the lyrics'' The awards will air on September 9th. Billie Joe is shown briefly in the trailer for the upcoming punk documentary "Punk's Not Dead". According to NME, "The film is an exploration of the evolution of punk rock featuring dozens of interviews with prominent punk artists as well as rare concert footage." Green Day are mentioned to be featured alongside the Ramones, NOFX, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Sum41, My Chemical Romance, and some other bands. Adam Levine (from Maroon 5) mentioned Green Day's song 'Burnout' as one of his top 5 songs. The list came out in the most recent issue of Rolling Stone. Thanks to Sophia for the news and the scan. Green Day is trying to raise awareness of environmental issues outside Springfield as well. You can keep up with the stuff they're trying to do through the Green Day + NRDC website and their MySpace. Matt Groening and James L. Brooks did an interview with MTV's Kurt Loder and talked about Green Day a little bit. Green Day are in the Issue 90/August 2007 edition of Big Cheese Magazine. It's a PUNK: '77-'07 Collector's Edition featuring bands such as Green Day, The Living End, and The Clash. According to haushinkapritchard on the forum, Billie Joe says "they have lots of songs but they just need to figure out how to put them together to make an album and he has no fucking clue when it will be released." Entertainment Weekly has an article about Green Day rocking the Simpsons theme. Green Day's cover of "Working Class Hero" was rated number 54 in the New York Post's 100 Best Covered Songs of All Time. Also there was a wrong information in "Rolling Stone" magazine, Green Day has not added lyrics to the new Simpsons song. The Adeline Army is having a contest on Buzznet giving away a bunch of free merchandise. Green Day were ranked at #4 on Live Earth's list of the top 15 Environmentally Friendly Bands.
